Sally Mavin

Dr Sally Mavin is the Director of the Scottish Lyme Disease and Tick-borne infection Reference Laboratory in Inverness, UK. She received her PhD from the University of Aberdeen and has worked on the laboratory diagnosis of Lyme disease as a Clinical Scientist for almost 20 years. During this time she has worked hard both to improve the service, utilizing in-house and commercial tests, and to collate epidemiological information on Lyme borreliosis in Scotland. Her research interests include developing diagnostic tests to differentiate patients with current infection from those infected with B. burgdorferi in the past. Sally is a member of the steering committee for ESGBOR, the ESCMID (European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases) study group for Lyme borreliosis.
Sally serves as an international member on the CLyDRN Scientific Advisory Committee.
